Cloud security startup Wiz, acquired by Alphabet for $32 billion in March 2025, has rapidly emerged as a leader in simplifying and strengthening protection across complex cloud environments, Technology Magazine reports.

Founded in 2020, Wiz offers an agentless, graph-based Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform that delivers real-time visibility into risks across virtual machines, containers, and serverless systems.

"With the Wiz Security Graph, we provide full visibility and context into every cloud resource," says Oron Noah, Director of Product Management. Partnering closely with Google Cloud, Wiz built its multi-cloud security foundation using Kubernetes and leveraged Infrastructure-as-Code principles for faster deployment.

Its API-only architecture enables frictionless scanning without impacting performance, making it a preferred choice for regulated sectors like finance and healthcare. The company's swift response to the Log4j vulnerability further cemented its reputation.

Today, Wiz counts numerous Fortune 500 companies among its clients, highlighting its success in balancing agility, scalability, and security.
