Global customer service support firm 5CA has denied the hacking of its systems after it was blamed by Discord over the exposure of 70,000 users' government ID photos, according to The Verge.

No 5CA systems were involved in data breaches, said the firm in a statement, which emphasized that it had not managed Discord's government-issued IDs while assuring the continued security of all its platforms and systems.

"Based on interim findings, we can confirm that the incident occurred outside of our systems and that 5CA was not hacked. There is no evidence of any impact on other 5CA clients, systems, or data. Access controls, encryption, and monitoring systems are fully operational and, as a precautionary measure, are under heightened review," said 5CA, which attributed the incident to "human error."

Additional details regarding the involvement of human error in the Discord hack were not clarified by 5CA. Discord has also yet to confirm the company holding the compromised government ID photos.
