Cloud Tech News reports that cyberattacks are intensifying across Singapore’s hybrid cloud landscape, with 91% of IT and security leaders reporting incidents in the past year, according to Rubrik Zero Labs' latest report, The State of Data Security in 2025: A Distributed Crisis. The study identifies ransomware, identity threats, insider risks, and cloud-based vulnerabilities as key challenges, with nearly 20% of firms suffering over 25 attacks in 2024 alone.“Businesses must strengthen their ability to safeguard critical data to keep pace with emerging threats,” said Sheena Chin, ASEAN managing director at Rubrik. Malware, phishing, and cloud breaches remain dominant attack vectors, while 95% of ransomware victims paid to recover data. The widespread use of multiple cloud platforms is fueling access management gaps, with 27% of high-risk data containing exploitable credentials. The report urges a shift to a “data-first” approach to security, emphasizing that safeguarding sensitive information, regardless of where it lives, must be central to any strategy in today’s distributed, high-risk digital environment.
