Rhysida spills purportedly stolen Gemini Group data

Major U.S. manufacturer Gemini Group had a 1.9 TB dataset allegedly stolen from its systems exposed by the Rhysida ransomware group, Cybernews reports.

Over 1.7 million files were leaked, including a customer list, multiple invoices, annual purchasing reports, internal document templates, employee payroll and vacation balance files, intern and mentor lists, health insurance documents, and personal employee files and pictures, according to Cybernews researchers, who analyzed the data trove.

Gemini Group, which provides metal tooling, plastic extrusion, and blow molding solutions, has not yet acknowledged Rhysida's claims and subsequent leak. However, such an incident could have significant implications for the firm, said researchers.

"This leak could undermine employee trust in the company, especially if they are not fully transparent about the situation. The company could face legal consequences and loss of trust from its clients as well, and exposed financial details could cause a competitive disadvantage," researchers added.

More than 236 organizations have been impacted by Rhysida since its emergence two years ago, data from Cybernews' Ransomlooker tool showed.
