Over 377K impacted by Gulshan Management Services hack

Security breach, system hacked alert with red broken padlock icon showing unsecure data under cyberattack, vulnerable access, compromised password, virus infection, internet network with binary code

Texas-based Gulshan Management Services, which operates more than 150 Handi Plus and Handi Stop gas stations and convenience stores across the U.S., had data from over 377,000 individuals pilfered following a September data breach, HackRead reports.

Infiltration of Gulshan Management Services' external system from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24 allowed threat actors to nab individuals' names, addresses, Social Security numbers, government-issued ID numbers, driver's license numbers, and financial details, according to separate regulatory filings this week. With complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services unclear, Handi Plus and Handi Stop customers have been advised to be vigilant of suspicious card and banking activities, transactions, phone calls, and emails.

Such a delayed notification of people impacted by the incident has already prompted multiple class action lawsuits against Gulshan Management Services, which has also been accused of inadequately securing its clients' sensitive information.
