IT Brief Australia reports that Minimus, a Baton Rouge-based technology firm, has significantly expanded its security platform with the general availability of its Image Creator tool, enabling enterprises to build and manage their own custom, hardened container images.
This new capability allows development teams to tailor images for specific workloads while still leveraging Minimus's integrated security features, including exploit intelligence, signed Software Bills of Materials, and continuous automated rebuilds.
The company's core value proposition remains a drastic reduction in vulnerabilities, claiming its images contain over 97% fewer Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures and are pre-configured to meet major industry benchmarks like CIS and NIST. According to Minimus CTO and Co-Founder John Morello, this move gives customers "unmatched control and security for their containerized applications."
In a related development, the company also unveiled a private preview of its Supply Chain Protection feature, designed to enforce security policies on open-source packages without disrupting developer workflows.
