SiliconAngle reports that private equity company Vista Equity Partners is set to purchase cybersecurity training software provider KnowBe4 in a $4.6 billion deal, with the acquisition expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2023.
Aside from offering learning resources for internal cybersecurity training, KnowBe4 also provides various software products, one of which could enable simulated phishing attacks to evaluate the effectiveness of corporate cybersecurity efforts. Business users are also being offered the PhishER tool that could enable phishing email reporting to their IT teams. Machine learning is being used by PhishER to allow automation of key tasks in hacking investigations.
"KnowBe4 has a strong record of performance, as evidenced by our market-leading platform and global customer base. Under Vistas ownership, we will have access to additional resources and support, which will help us achieve our goals and deliver enhanced value to our customers," said KnowBe4 founder and CEO Stu Sjouwerman.
