Sentra Inc. has secured $150 million in new funding to expand its data security platform designed to govern how artificial intelligence agents interact with corporate information, with further coverage provided by Silicon Angle.
The data security startup reported 300% growth over the past year as enterprises struggle to manage the rapid proliferation of AI agents. These agents often operate without central oversight, accessing sensitive datasets through inherited permissions. Sentra addresses this by mapping identities and classifying data to ensure agents only access necessary information. Chief Executive Yoav Regev noted that traditional perimeter controls are insufficient for the speed at which these agents function. The platform identifies and removes high-risk data while flagging unauthorized access attempts, allowing for automated permission revocation. Security analysis occurs entirely within the customer environment to mitigate residency and compliance risks. Capital One Ventures led the Series C funding round, which brings the total capital raised by the company to more than $250 million. Sentra plans to use the investment to enhance visibility into AI models and copilots while expanding its global channel programs. The company was founded in 2021 by Yoav Regev, Asaf Kochan, Ron Reiter and Yair Cohen to provide specialized security for data at rest.
