Intruder platform now scans AWS, Azure, GCP Images

Intruder has extended its cloud security platform to encompass registry-level container image scanning, a move designed to give lean security teams continuous visibility into vulnerabilities lurking within Amazon ECR, Google Artifact Registry, and Azure Container Registry without the operational burden of deploying node-based agents, Security Brief United Kingdom reports.

The feature performs daily assessments of new and actively tagged images, flagging outdated dependencies and known CVEs before they can propagate through development pipelines into production services. Andy Hornegold, Intruder's vice president of product, framed the release as addressing a critical visibility gap in modern infrastructure, noting that containerized environments represent "a big, complicated attack surface" where agent deployment often proves impractical due to managed service constraints.

By focusing on registry-level inspection and filtering out stale, deprecated images, the platform aims to maintain a favorable signal-to-noise ratio while covering diverse compute backends, including AWS Lambda and ECS. The enhancement arrives as the container market expands at a rapid 33% annual clip, underscoring the urgency for unified exposure management that bridges fragmented toolchains and prevents vulnerable software components from slipping silently into live workloads.
