Fortinet has significantly expanded its FortiCNAPP cloud risk management platform by integrating network security posture, data security posture management, and runtime validation into a single, prioritized workflow, IT Brief Asia reports.
The update aims to solve the operational challenge of tool sprawl and visibility gaps, which a company report identifies as the top barrier to effective cloud security for nearly 70% of organizations. FortiCNAPP now correlates configuration issues, identity exposure, vulnerabilities, network enforcement, data sensitivity, and runtime behavior to prioritize risks based on actual exposure and business impact. Senior Vice President Nirav Shah stated the enhancement moves teams "from alert overload to clear, prioritized action."
Key new capabilities include detecting existing FortiGate protections to reduce false urgency, native DSPM to identify sensitive data without moving it, and runtime validation to distinguish theoretical from exploitable vulnerabilities. The unified workflow consolidates signals that previously required separate tools, providing a continuous audit of cloud infrastructure health. Customer Monolithic Power Systems noted the platform offers clear visibility and acts as a "continuous auditor," helping to proactively protect their cloud operations.
