Almost 19K hit by California county housing authority compromise Nearly 19,000 individuals were informed by the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino in California to have had their data compromised in a cyberattack last June, according to The Record, a news site by cybersecurity firm Recorded Future.

Over 637,000 individuals impacted by data breaches had their personal and sensitive health information compromised once again after a cyberattack against international law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe last March, TechCrunch reports.

One of the affected healthcare providers was already reeling after losing a million records in the massive MOVEit Transfer attacks.

New Jersey-based population health management software firm HealthEC had personal and health information from almost 4.5 million individuals following a data breach in July, reports SiliconAngle.

The ancestry and biotech company company said victims “were not affected by any security breach” under California’s privacy law.

Security pros say while the 12-character requirement by LastPass is a step in the right direction, teams still need to enforce multi-factor authentication and practice continuous monitoring.
