Telecommunications firms across the U.S. will be required to inform the Federal Communications Commission, the FBI, and the U.S. Secret Service regarding data breaches within seven days of identifying compromise under the finalized data breach reporting rule issued by the FCC, according to The Register.

Third-party vendor IMS told BoA last fall that data from “deferred compensation plans" may have been compromised.

In letter to customers, firm said it has no intention of paying a ransom.

More than 33 million individuals across France, or almost half of the country's population, were confirmed by the country's data protection authority CNIL to have had their data compromised following data breaches at French healthcare and insurance services providers Viamedis and Almerys last month, according to BleepingComputer.

The company said there was no evidence PII spilled outside the organization after a staff member gained unauthorized access to a file.

TechCrunch reports that more than 155,000 drivers of youth-oriented rideshare startup HopSkipDrive had their data stolen following a cyberattack between the end of May and early June.
