Cloud Security, Managed Services

It’s that time: Enter your company, product and leaders for the 25th annual SC Awards

I am so pleased to announce that entries are officially open for the 25th annual 2022 SC Awards.

That’s right – 25 years. For a quarter of a century, we have recognized the best that the vendor community has to offer in product, leadership, and service. And this year, we bring a number of new categories, reflecting the shifting demands of security professionals.

Specifically, we’ve expanded categories that recognize cloud and managed service solutions; we’ve introduced new categories for data security and SASE solutions. We added categories for Security Marketing Campaign of the Year to recognize excellence in community communication, and Best Pandemic Pivot for the company that responded in short order to the COVID-era requirements of customers with new or adapted solutions.

And perhaps the biggest expansion of all is the introduction of categories that recognize startup businesses and the financial partners that support them: Most Promising Early-Stage Startup, Most Promising Unicorn with a $1 billion valuation or higher, Early-Stage Investor of the Year, Growth-Stage Investor of the Year, and Deal of the Year that recognizes the most consequential merger, acquisition or initial public offering for the cybersecurity community.

These additions reflect the undeniable importance of emerging tech – of not standing still, of responding to market gaps, of shaping the future of information security. They also recognize shifts in priorities during the last year. Indeed, if 2020 forced organizations to plug security holes that emerged during the pandemic’s rapid digital transformation, then 2021 brought the realization that longer term, the same old approaches to protect networks and data would not suffice. We can all concede that the last couple of years brought a number of reality check moments, and the 2022 SC Awards seeks to recognize and honor the solutions, organizations and people that responded to those hard-learned lessons by raising the bar in technology and services.

So I encourage the vendor community as well as their financial partners to take a look at the 2022 SC Awards entry kit, peruse the categories, and then visit the SC Awards portal to submit your products, your people, and your companies for recognition. Winners will be unveiled digitally in August, with live recognition in September at InfoSec World in Orlando, Florida.

And to those in the practitioner community that may be interested in joining our incredible pool of judges, who will be introduced in coming weeks, shoot me a note.
