A new survey of security professionals around the globe finds that the vast of majority of respondents say they are concerned their organization will successfully be attacked in the next year.
Trend Micro’s twice-a-year Cyber Risk Index report shows that respondents in the Asia-Pacific are the most likely to say they think they are somewhat or very likely to be successfully attacked at 89%, followed by respondents in North America (86%), Europe (85%) and Latin/South America (82%).
What’s more, most organizations say they’ve had one or more network breaches in the last year (North America, 93%; Latin/South America, 91%; Europe, 87%; Asia-Pacific, 90%), and more than a third say they’ve had a whopping seven or more breaches.
Overall, respondents rated the following as the top cyber threats in 1H 2022:
- Business Email Compromise (BEC)
- Clickjacking
- Fileless attacks
- Ransomware
- Login attacks (Credential Theft)
According to the report, the current global Cyber Risk Index is at an elevated risk level and increased slightly from the second half of 2021. "Organizations in North America and Asia-Pacific saw an increase in their cyber risk from that period while Europe and Latin/South America’s risk decreased in comparison."
