Less than a day after The New York Times revealed that its reporters were targeted by Chinese hackers, The Wall Street Journal disclosed on Thursday that its systems were also breached by attackers from China wanting to observe the newspaper's coverage of the country. The Journal remained coy about the details of the compromise, unlike The Times, which ran a long story detailing how its systems were hijacked over the last four months. The story in The Journal did say the attack is believed to have emanated in the publication's Beijing bureau and that, on Thursday, it completed a network security overhaul.
