Harvard University has confirmed being impacted by a significant data breach following a voice phishing intrusion against its Alumni Affairs and Development systems, according to BleepingComputer.Threat actors discovered to have infiltrated Harvard's Alumni Affairs and Development systems last week were able to exfiltrate phone numbers, email addresses, home and business addresses, event attendance records, donation information, and other biographical details belonging to its alumni, their spouses, partners, and widows/widowers, donors, and parents, as well as certain current students, faculty, and staff members, said Harvard officials.Immediate efforts to expel the attacker from the affected systems, they added. Such a disclosure comes weeks after fellow Ivy League schools Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania reported having had their data compromised in separate attacks. Harvard had also reported an investigation into Clop ransomware's claimed breach of its systems as part of its widespread Oracle E-Business Suite server attack.
