US Supreme Court system hacker admits guilt

Security Affairs reports that Tennessee man Nicholas Moore has entered a guilty plea for breaching the U.S. Supreme Court's electronic filing system and other government systems, as well as leaking stolen data online. Aside from using stolen credentials to access the Supreme Court's system over two dozen times between August and October 2023, Moore also compromised accounts at the Veterans Administration Health System and AmeriCorps, according to the U.S. Justice Department. Moore also used his Instagram account to post screenshots and personal information taken from his victims, publicly exposing names and sensitive details. Between Sept. 14 and Oct. 14, 2023, he accessed a veteran's VA MyHealthEVet account, stole private health information, and shared it online. He pleaded guilty to one count of fraud in connection with computers. He faces up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, with sentencing scheduled for April 17.
