As reported by The Cyber Express, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a structured bug bounty program to enhance the cybersecurity of its Aadhaar ecosystem.

The UIDAI bug bounty initiative involves a panel of 20 selected security researchers who will assess critical digital platforms, including the official website, myAadhaar portal, and the Secure QR Code application. Participants are tasked with discovering potential security weaknesses and reporting them through official channels using responsible disclosure practices. Vulnerabilities will be classified into four tiers: Critical, High, Medium, and Low, with rewards offered based on severity and impact. UIDAI is collaborating with cybersecurity firm ComOlho IT Private Limited to manage the program, streamline communication, and oversee the vulnerability submission process.

This program aligns with the Indian government's broader efforts to safeguard digital infrastructure, following practices adopted by leading global technology companies. This initiative complements existing government programs like those managed by CERT-In and NCIIPC.
