Truffle Security raises $25M for secret detection

Truffle Security, the company behind the widely-used open-source secret detection tool TruffleHog, has secured $25 million in a Series B funding round to expand its mission of protecting non-human identities and credentials, according to FinTech Global.

The investment was co-led by Intel Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from other venture firms and industry leaders. The funding will accelerate the growth of its enterprise platform, fuel innovation in secrets management, and support the launch of new features like TruffleHog GCP Analyze, which provides deep visibility into leaked Google Cloud service accounts.

Nick Washburn of Intel Capital stated that compromised credentials remain a leading cause of data breaches, making Truffle's work a critical safety measure. The company has seen surging demand, more than doubling its revenue and expanding its client base among mid-market and Fortune 1000 firms. CEO Dylan Ayrey expressed that the capital will allow them to grow their community and technology to solve more pain points caused by non-human secrets, expanding beyond leak analysis into secret inventory and productivity tooling.
