Starbucks employee data compromised in partner central account breach

Starbucks shifted to cloud computing several years but today’s columnist, Scott Schwan of Shujinko, explains why success in the cloud takes hard work and planning.

Starbucks has disclosed a data breach impacting hundreds of its employees after threat actors gained unauthorized access to their Starbucks Partner Central accounts, according to a recent report by Bleeping Computer.

The breach, discovered on February 6, 2026, involved the compromise of 889 Starbucks Partner Central accounts. Threat actors obtained login credentials through phishing websites impersonating the Partner Central portal, granting them access to employee data between January 19 and February 11. The exposed information includes names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and financial account and routing numbers.

Starbucks has notified law enforcement and is offering affected employees two years of free identity theft protection and credit monitoring services.
