ShinyHunters claims Rockstar Games data breach via Snowflake and Anodot

Rockstar Games is reportedly facing a data security threat from the ShinyHunters hacking group, which claims to have accessed the company's Snowflake environment. The group has set a deadline for payment, threatening to leak a significant volume of data if their demands are not met, with further coverage provided by HackRead.

The ShinyHunters group alleges that the breach was facilitated through Anodot, a SaaS platform for cloud cost monitoring. Attackers reportedly exploited a breach at Anodot to obtain authentication tokens, which then allowed them to access Rockstar Games' Snowflake instances without exploiting Snowflake's own security.

ShinyHunters has a history of targeting identity systems and third-party integrations, previously claiming data breaches involving organizations like Cisco, Telus, and the European Commission.
