Security firm expands cloud security network amid 85% surge in DDoS attacks

DDoS attack

Application security provider Radware has announced a major expansion of its global cloud security network, doubling its total distributed denial-of-service attack mitigation capacity from 15 terabits per second to 30 Tbps, reports The Fast Mode.

This significant upgrade responds to a surge in sophisticated cyberattacks, with the company's own threat analysis reporting an 85% increase in network DDoS attacks in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year. Modern threats are evolving beyond raw volume, increasingly targeting application layers with high-request-per-second assaults like HTTPS floods.

Radware's AI-powered web DDoS protection is designed to accurately detect and mitigate such disruptive attacks, handling over 50 million requests per second without blocking legitimate user traffic. The company's strategy relies on a global network of 65 cloud security centers, including new facilities opened in 2025 in Bogotá, Lima, Mumbai, Singapore, and Tel Aviv, which aim to mitigate attacks close to their origin, improve application performance, ensure data residency compliance, and accelerate response times against a broad spectrum of threats including malicious bots and API abuse.
