From cars to wearables, so many devices hang off of the Internet of Things (IoT), that security professionals like Symantec's Senior Director of IoT Brian Witten are losing considerable sleep trying to help organizations protect the information they spit out.
"I worry a lot about medical devices and cars because they're both immediately life critical,” says Witten. But a lot of the economy also depends on these manufacturing systems, industrial control systems, so those three particularly keep me awake at night.”
While Witten believes security technology is in place to protect IoT, but “a lot of companies race to bring products to market without security even being an afterthought and now they're trying to refactor security in.”
