The 2022 Global Network Report by telecommunications provider NTT found that most organization leaders recognize the importance of modernizing their networks to realize their digital transformation plans and yet are struggling to achieve their goals for various reasons, according to TechRepublic.
The survey of more than 1,300 enterprise networking experts in 21 countries found that 95% of enterprises view their networks as the backbone of their plans, but only 50% believe their network technology is aligned with their business objectives, and while 80% are eager to embrace the cloud, 5G, machine learning and other innovations, 70% are hindered by lack of expertise and increasing technical debt.
According to the report, organizations view cybersecurity, the rise of cybercrime and state-sponsored attacks as major risk factors and many are responding by adopting unified cloud-based security solutions and a managed endpoint security model.
Levels of investment in the network have surged, with the results of this research showing many organizations are leaning towards key partners and managed service solutions to fulfill their requirements, according to NTT Executive Vice President Amit Dhingra.
