Phishing emails claim to contain attorney info, deliver Zeus instead

A new phishing scam is targeting individuals that require the services of an attorney.

In the email, the sender, claiming to be a neighbor, writes that a lawyer left information to be forwarded along after stopping by the recipient's home when they were out, according to a Tuesday post by Ronnie Tokazowski, senior researcher with PhishMe.

The email contains an attachment that is supposed to be information from the attorney, but was instead identified by anti-virus as a Zeus trojan, Tokazowski wrote, explaining the malware is likely used to obtain credit card data, Social Security numbers, passwords and any other important data on the system.

Tokazowski highlights several mistakes in the email that indicate it is a scam, including, most notably, poor overall use of the English language.
