US industrial components corporation Parker Hannifin has confirmed in a regulatory filing that it has been impacted by a data breach last month, according to SecurityWeek.
Parker Hannifin has reported that despite immediate action in closing off some systems after the discovery of the breach on March 14, some data, including employees' personal information, have been compromised. "Based on its preliminary assessment and on the information currently known, the incident has not had a significant financial or operational impact and the Company does not believe the incident will have a material impact on its business, operations, or financial results," said the company. Meanwhile, the Conti ransomware gang has already claimed responsibility for the attack, leaking over 5GB of archived files, which it said only accounted for 3% of the stolen data. The Conti ransomware attack comes after its chat logs, malware source code, email addresses, and command-and-control server information have been leaked after it had expressed support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
