The University of Pennsylvania has confirmed having its data compromised following the widespread Oracle E-Business Suite hack conducted by the Clop ransomware group, according to CyberScoop.

Information from almost 1,500 Maine residents had been stolen due to the three-day infiltration of Penn's systems in August. However, additional details on the extent of the breach were not provided.

"Penn has implemented the patches that Oracle issued to resolve the vulnerability. Penn has found no evidence that any of this information has been or is likely to be publicly disclosed or misused for fraudulent purposes," said a university spokesperson.

More than 100 organizations have already been impacted by the Oracle EBS breach, including fellow Ivy League schools Harvard University and Dartmouth College. Clop's extensive abuse of Oracle EBS vulnerabilities has also affected Cox Enterprises, Logitech, Envoy Air, GlobalLogic, and The Washington Post.
