Quantum-resistant cryptography has become a critical priority for organizations as attackers increasingly harvest encrypted data for future decryption, as first reported by Silicon Angle.

Oracle Corp. is proactively addressing these threats by integrating advanced security controls across its database fleets. Vipin Samar, senior vice president of software engineering, database security, at Oracle, warned that current encrypted traffic, including TLS 1.2 and 1.3, remains vulnerable to future quantum computing capabilities. To mitigate these risks, Oracle introduced the Cryptographic Posture Assessment within Oracle Data Safe. This tool evaluates cryptographic configurations across entire fleets to identify and address weaknesses, such as outdated TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support. Furthermore, the company is leveraging agentic AI to automate remediation processes. Oracle is also emphasizing security at the source through its Deep Data Security initiative. By enforcing row- and column-level access within the Oracle AI Database 26ai using signed OAuth2 tokens, the company ensures that AI agents operate under strict security parameters. This approach treats AI as a standard application, preventing potential bypasses and ensuring consistent protection across all data access points. These measures reflect a broader industry shift toward securing infrastructure against the long-term implications of quantum advancements.
