Microsoft acquires Adallom for reported $250M

Microsoft has acquired the cloud security provider Adallom in a deal reportedly worth $250 million.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based security firm, founded by former Israeli Intelligence Corps members, will expand Microsoft's existing identity assets and deliver “a cloud access security broker," according to a Microsoft blog. Its security-as-a-service solution will complement existing Microsoft offerings including Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS), and Microsoft Advance Threat Analytics. Adallom's services will also work with popular cloud applications, including Salesforce, Box, Dropbox, ServiceNow, and Ariba.

The firm said it will continue to sell the Adallom solution and support their customers through the company's integration into Microsoft. The acquisition is part of Microsoft's efforts to deliver innovative identity and security capabilities to their customers, across both on-premises and multiple clouds.

While the financial terms of the deal weren't revealed, TechCrunch reported it at $250 million.
