The hacker group that previously took down the PlayStation Network for nearly an entire day through a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack has taken credit for another hack on a different gaming network.
On Monday, Xbox Live users in the United States and Canada reporting having issues connecting to the service – many claiming their consoles were responding with error codes that report an Xbox Live profile failed to download, according to a report by Polygon.
Shortly after the disruption, the infamous hacking group Lizard Squad took credit for the attack, announcing it via their Twitter account.
The group went on to Tweet that the attack on the gaming network was “a small dose of what's to come on Christmas,” suggesting that another threat for the service is imminent.
