Silicon Angle reports that Helmet Security, a startup focused on agentic artificial intelligence security, has secured $9 million in new funding. This investment aims to accelerate the development and deployment of its platform designed to continuously discover, monitor and enforce security controls on AI infrastructure and agentic AI communications.

Founded in 2025, Helmet Security addresses the security challenges of modern agentic AI, particularly communications via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP enables AI agents to securely interact with enterprise systems. Helmet's platform maps MCP infrastructure, discovers new servers and brings them under management. It provides real-time monitoring and logging of MCP communications to detect threats like data exfiltration and prompt injection, which traditional security tools may miss.

The platform also offers governance and policy enforcement, allowing enterprises to define rules for allowed tools, communications and access privileges, integrating with existing security tools to protect innovation without hindering it. This funding highlights the growing need for specialized security solutions as AI adoption accelerates.
