The intrusion was facilitated by the use of stolen credentials belonging to a government official, raising serious concerns about the security of sensitive financial information.The French Economy Ministry confirmed that a hacker gained access to a national bank account database and viewed data from 1.2 million accounts. The compromised information includes account numbers, account holder names, addresses, and in some cases, tax identification numbers. However, authorities stated that account balances and transaction details were not accessed.The breach was detected, and the threat actor's access was immediately blocked, preventing data exfiltration. Affected account holders will be notified by authorities in the coming days.
