Google bolsters integrated data cloud concept with 3 new services

Share

SiliconANGLE reports that Google unveiled three new cloud services during its first Data Cloud Summit: Dataplex, which enables intelligent data management; Analytics Hub, which allows data access and sharing; and Datastream, which is used for enhanced data replication in multicloud environments.

Google is touting the new offerings as key to the creation of an integrated data cloud spanning multicloud environments and says the three products combined present the solution to data silos, allowing enterprises to manage multicloud data and from it gain real-time insights for better decision-making.

Dataplex is an intelligent data fabric that enables large-scale curating, integration and analysis of data. Datastream, meanwhile, enables replication of live data streams from MySQL and Oracle databases into Google BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner and Google Cloud Storage, among other services, using the Change Data Capture method. Both products are available in preview. Finally, Analytics Hub, which will soon launch in preview, is designed to allow secure, real-time creation and management of analytics exchanges, and enable customers to share data and insights with each other.
