Eight Cal State campuses, 79K students impacted in vendor breach

About 79,000 California State University (CSU) students in eight campuses are being notified that their data could have been exposed in a breach of We End Violence, a violence prevention education organization.

The wide variety of information that could have been affected can be found on the We End Violence entry of our data breach blog. CSU added in a statement emailed to SCMagazine.com on Wednesday that campus mailing addresses and any other provided mailing addresses may also be at risk.

CSU is contacting impacted students, and the affected campuses have erased all existing student login information for those students.

Three vendors were conducting required sexual assault prevention online training for CSU and eight campuses selected We End Violence, including CSU Channel Islands, Cal State Los Angeles, CSU San Bernardino, CSU Maritime Academy, CSU Northridge, San Diego State, Sonoma State University, and California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
