The Dutch Ministry of Finance has taken parts of its infrastructure offline, including the treasury banking portal, following a cyberattack detected on March 19. The incident impacted a portion of employees and led to the temporary shutdown of key systems. Services for citizens and businesses, including tax and customs operations, were not affected, with further coverage provided by Security Affairs.The cyberattack, detected after a third-party alert, led to unauthorized access to internal systems within the policy department. As a result, the treasury banking portal was taken offline, preventing approximately 1,600 public entities from accessing balances or key functions. These entities include ministries, agencies, educational institutions, social funds, and local governments.While participants can still access their funds and payments continue through normal channels, essential services are being handled manually.
