Associated Radiologists of the Finger Lakes, P.C., a New York-based radiology services provider, had the data of its current and former patients exposed following a cybersecurity incident in late October, according to WETM-TV.
Unauthorized network access between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30 allowed threat actors to access individuals' names, birthdates, addresses, Social Security numbers, clinical or treatment details, medical provider names, medical procedure information, prescription data, and health insurance details, said ARFL, which pledged to inform affected people once it concludes its investigation.
"Upon learning of this event, ARFL moved quickly to investigate and respond to the incident, assess the security of its systems, restore functionality to its IT Network, and undertake the processes needed to notify potentially affected individuals.
As part of ARFL's ongoing commitment to information privacy and security, ARFL is reviewing and enhancing its technical, administrative, and physical safeguards, policies, and procedures to further secure the information on its systems," said the provider.
