As reported by Bleeping Computer, a Slovakian national has admitted to his role in operating Kingdom Market, a significant darknet marketplace that facilitated the sale of illicit goods and services for over two years.

Alan Bill, 33, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. Kingdom Market, which ran from March 2021 to December 2023, offered a wide array of illegal items including narcotics like methamphetamine and fentanyl, cybercrime tools, counterfeit identification documents, and stolen personal information. Transactions were conducted using various cryptocurrencies. The marketplace hosted approximately 42,000 listings from hundreds of sellers and tens of thousands of customers. Federal investigators initiated the probe by making undercover purchases of drugs and a fraudulent passport from the site. German authorities seized the market's domains and infrastructure in December 2023.

Bill's arrest at Newark Liberty International Airport followed the seizure of digital devices containing evidence linking him to the marketplace. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to 40 years and a fine of up to $5 million.
