Cybersecurity has continued to be the lowest priority in terms of risk among U.S. small business owners, with only 5% of respondents citing it as the biggest risk to their business this quarter, reports CNBC.
However, nearly 40% of respondents noted being somewhat or very concerned about being impacted by cyberattacks within the next year, a rate which has held steady since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine commenced, with those having at least 50 employees being more concerned than those with only up to four employees, according to the joint CNBC and SurveyMonkey Small Business Survey. Meanwhile, nearly 60% expressed being somewhat or very confident about being able to immediately resolve cyberattacks.
A separate SurveyMonkey poll showed that 75% of U.S. consumers expect major cyberattacks against U.S. businesses within the next year, signifying a different sentiment regarding cyber risks among the public. Fifty-five percent of surveyed consumers reported reduced odds of continuing business with cyberattack-hit brands, the survey found.
