As reported by Silicon Angle, CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. has announced its acquisition of Seraphic Security Ltd., a startup focused on protecting enterprise browsers from online threats. The deal, the financial terms of which were not disclosed but reportedly valued at $400 million, aims to bolster CrowdStrike's cybersecurity offerings.Seraphic Security's platform addresses vulnerabilities in browser JavaScript engines, a common target for web-borne cyberattacks. It employs an abstraction layer to isolate the engine from malicious requests and mitigates memory corruption exploits by randomizing memory addresses. The platform also analyzes webpage data points to detect threats like ransomware and phishing links. Furthermore, it can scan uploaded files for sensitive business information and block data leak vectors such as clipboard access and screen sharing. Seraphic's technology extends to securing desktop applications built with the Electron framework. CrowdStrike plans to integrate Seraphic's capabilities into its Falcon platform, complementing its recent acquisition of SGNL Inc.This acquisition signifies a strategic move by CrowdStrike to deepen its endpoint security by incorporating real-time browser telemetry and user behavior analysis. The integration with Seraphic's technology, alongside SGNL, aims to provide more comprehensive protection against evolving cyber threats, including unauthorized artificial intelligence use.Source: Silicon Angle
