Share

Cisco has acquired Milpitas, Calif.-based Virtuata, a security software start-up that safeguards virtual machine data, for an undisclosed sum. The deal, announced Monday, will enable Cisco to help its customers quicken the "deployment of multi-tenant, multi-hypervisor cloud infrastructures," the company wrote in a blog post. The Virtuata team will join Cisco's Data Center Group, which is currently led by David Yen, the senior vice president. This unit is responsible for data center switching, servers, storage and load balancing.
