Apple iCloud deletion scam targets users with fake emails

Based on information from Tech Radar, a wave of deceptive emails is targeting Apple users, falsely claiming their iCloud data is at risk of deletion and pressuring them into clicking malicious links.

These phishing emails often state that a user's storage limit has been exceeded or their account is blocked, threatening the permanent erasure of photos and videos by a specific date. Some messages include repeated follow-ups, escalating the urgency. The scam emails, which mimic legitimate iCloud alerts, typically contain alarming claims, deadlines, and a call to action. They direct users to fraudulent pages designed to steal sensitive personal and banking information.

Inconsistencies like unusual sender domains and poor grammar, such as "Your account may expires today," are common indicators of fraud. Despite familiar branding on phishing pages, users are urged to be cautious. Apple users should verify storage status directly through device settings and avoid clicking links in suspicious emails.
