AI art generator app leaks 2 million private user photos and videos

Tech Radar reports that a misconfigured database in the "Video AI Art Generator & Maker" app has led to the exposure of 8.27 million media files, including 2 million private user photos and videos.

Researchers discovered an unsecured Google Cloud storage bucket associated with the Android app. This bucket contained a significant amount of user-uploaded content, alongside AI-generated videos, audio files, and images. The app, launched in mid-June 2023, was developed by Codeway Dijital Hizmetler Anonim Sirketi.

A separate Codeway app, "Chat & Ask AI," was previously found to have exposed 300 million messages tied to 25 million users due to a misconfigured backend. The developers have since secured the database for the "Video AI Art Generator & Maker" app.
