According to Tech Radar, Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) experienced a significant data leak, exposing sensitive information of over 700 high-profile attendees. The incident involved a misconfigured database managed by a third-party vendor.

The exposed data included scans of passports and state identity cards belonging to prominent figures such as former British Prime Minister David Cameron, US investor Anthony Scaramucci, hedge fund billionaire Alan Howard, and Richard Teng, co-chief executive of Binance. The database was publicly accessible and not password-protected.

Freelance security researcher Roni Suchowski discovered the vulnerability. ADFW stated that the issue was immediately secured upon identification and that initial reviews suggest access was limited to the researcher who found the problem, with no evidence of malicious exploitation.
