Interview with Shiva Pillay from Veeam
Safe AI at ScaleAI investment is exploding, yet nearly 90% of enterprise initiatives fail because the data powering AI cannot be trusted. That’s the uncomfortable truth the industry is facing right now. Safe AI at scale requires more than just great models—it demands trusted, governed, and recoverable data. This segment is sponsored by Veeam. A special topic segment where we're joined by Albert Estevez Polo, field CTO for Zero Networks (a community guest, not a podcast sponsor). Zero Networks just released some very interesting data on what attackers are doing after they gain access to victim's environments and how they're doing it.Segment Resources:Weekly Enterprise Security News

- AI NEWS: Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5
Good news, Mythos isn't dangerous anymore!
Here's my snarky take on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/adrian-sanabria_good-news-mythos-isnt-dangerous-anymore-activity-7470229447103758336-TPf3
And my theory that the Mythos roll-out could have been an intentional lead gen strategy: https://www.defendersinitiative.com/p/the-unintended-consequences-of-vulnmaxxing
- AI NEWS: Cybersecurity researchers aren’t happy about the guardrails on Anthropic’s Fable
Somewhere between overprotective and sales pitch-y
- AI NEWS: US National Security Agency using Anthropic’s Mythos for cyber attacks
I guess USGov and Anthropic made up?
- REPORTS: CodeRabbit Report – AI code creates 1.7x more problems, by David Loker
Useful context to go with the Mythos/Fable announcement
- REPORTS: FortiGate Admin-Hijack Operator Plants Hidden Backdoors and Steals Full Device Configuration
LOVE the report format here. Jealous that it's better than the format we came up with for DefendersInitiative.com. Lots of super useful lessons to learn from this one.
- CYBER INSURANCE: Cyber Insurance Rates Are Dropping, but Exclusions Widen
Exclusions for phishing/vishing? Uhhh, I can't see this flying.
- REGULATIONS: BOD 26-04: A new era of prioritized remediation
- REFERENCES: Disclose.io has a handy calendar post covering the rest of 2026
"Key dates for the vulnerability disclosure and security research community: policy comment deadlines, regulations, CFPs, and international developments."
- SQUIRREL: Zoom Calls Are So Much Worse For Us Than You Think
Fascinating - I hadn't even considered this.
- SQUIRREL: In 1999 This Was a Federal Crime. In 2026 the Hardware Is $22 and the Software Is Free.
A long read, but a really, really excellent one. Decoding DVDs was illegal and then it wasn't. This is the full story.
