Trump fundraising website hacked

Share

A fundraising website of President Donald Trump was defaced on Feb. 19, according to a post on Graham Cluley's security news site.

The site was taken offline following the defacement, which placed on the home page an image of a man wearing a fedora and the message:

"Hacked By Pro_Mast3r ~

Attacker Gov

Nothing Is Impossible

Peace From Iraq."

The attacker, "Pro_Mast3r," who told a journalist he was from Iraq while claiming credit for the hack, apparently exploited a DNS misconfiguration to gain control of the donaldjtrump subdomain.

The report advises that "Donald Trump's IT people need to do a better of job of checking the DNS configurations for subdomains that are currently not in use."
