After weeks of dismissing intelligence that Russia interfered in the U.S. presidential election, President-elect Donald Trump has accepted findings that the country's operatives hacked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and other Democratic Party interests, Reince Priebus, incoming chief of staff, said Sunday.
"He accepts the fact that this particular case was entities in Russia so that's not the issue," the former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman said on Fox News Sunday.
If true, accepting the findings of a CIA report released Friday would mark an about-face for Trump, who has repeatedly expressed skepticism that Russia mucked around in the election and has cultivated, at least publicly, a friendly relationship with Russian President Vladmir Putin.
In an appearance on Meet the Press Sunday, Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) renewed calls for Trump to take a hard stance against Russia for its meddling.
"You should let everybody know in America, Republicans and Democrats, that you're going to make Russia pay a price for trying to interfere," Graham said.
