Personal information of Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union customers stolen

What happened? A computer containing the personal information of an undisclosed number of Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union members was stolen from the offices of a third-party vendor last month.

What types of personal information? Names, addresses, telephone numbers, birth dates, Social Security numbers and account numbers.

What was the response? A letter, dated July 25, was sent to affected customers.

Credit union personnel have refused to identify the vendor.

The FBI has been notified, according to Tracy Miller, the credit union’s CEO.

Details: Kellogg Community has more than 25,000 members and $231 million in assets.
