Lyn Campbell – Proofpoint

Why Nominated: Lyn Campbell has evangelized a people-centric approach to security across Proofpoint. Since joining the company, Campbell has added employee training and development to the company’s quarterly roadmaps and goal planning to ensure success. She has also focused on creating an exceptional team based on individual skill sets and has established a culture internally at Proofpoint that is focused on bringing in entry-level people and then growing them into the next phase in career within the company. This helps to limit much of the department’s attrition to other roles within Proofpoint.

Profile: Lyn Campbell, who has more than 20 years of experience, has been responsible for Proofpoint’s worldwide corporate information technology platforms and services, including overseeing more than 250 employees. She ensures the success of business applications, network infrastructure, help desk, and production infrastructure, including service reliability engineering, network and data center operations, NOC, compliance, and global security. Prior to joining Proofpoint, Lyn led the international media production engineering team for Yahoo!, serving hundreds of millions of global customers and was responsible for the 24/7 operational support of Yahoo's Home Page and Media Verticals sites. She was also responsible for the teams that managed thousands of servers in data centers across the globe, meeting high availability/SLA demands via both physical and virtual environments. Known for her success with SaaS companies, her experience also includes directing teams at Sybase, WebEx, and Intraware (now Flexera software). Lyn earned a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
