The Korea Communications Commission will go to Facebook’s California headquarters to investigate whether or not the social media giant violated Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act.
Pulse News is reporting the investigation will take place in early 2019 and will see if 121,000 Korean Facebook users had their personal information either exposed or shared in a manner violating Korean law.
About 86,000 Korean accounts were part of Facebook’s massive 87 million-person Cambridge Analytica data breach. An additional 34,000 Koreans were part of the data breach revealed in September that encompassed more than 30 million Facebook users.
