Georgia state contractor burglarized

A computer was stolen from an employee of the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles which contained personal information on current and past parolees since 1998.

How many victims? Not specified.

What type of personal information? Names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers.

What was the response? Local authorities and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the incident.


Details: Persons who have solely been supervised as probationers were not a part of this database. The information was secured by multiple levels of passwords and there is no evidence that it has been accessed or compromised, according to an article released by the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
